If there is low confidence in the economy will this reduce the elasticity of demand for loanable funds because for a given decrease in the rate of interest, demand for loanable funds would be less than responsive? Also, is this a reason QE may not be effective in a recession because increasing the supply of liquid assets would lead to a very small increase in investment? enter image description here
