I'm looking for a technical term or phrase to describe an economy in which there isn't cash to spend in it.

I believe I read a book that referred to that state as a "dead economy" however from doing googling I was not able to find a match.

If there are technical terms to describe other types of economies that are in good or bad states, it would be appreciated as well.

$\begingroup$ What do you mean by that “there isn’t cash to spend in it”. You mean economy with no money? Also what do you mean by good and bad states? Which state is good and which bad is subjective $\endgroup$ – 1muflon1 Feb 29 '20 at 10:37
