This is a multi-part question:

  1. Why are we leaving quarantine so soon?
  2. If it's to increase economic activity, why is it important to keep it so high?
  3. At what point is economic activity worth more than thousands of people's health and livelihoods?
  • $\begingroup$ Your question 1 is not an economic question. Its a political question as politicians are the one deciding when to leave quarantine. 2. The question 2 was already asked on this site see the links below. Please do not post duplicate questions. 3. Again not an economic question but moral question. Moreover according to dictionary livelihood is "a means of securing the necessities of life" - that is by definition economic activity. For example producing food, healthcare etc is economic activity, so the Q3 does not even make sense as it has economic activity on both sides of equation. $\endgroup$
