Things like necessity for mass migration for robust economic growth/prosperity, open borders, keeping money in the community/shopping local is foolish and does not increase prosperity, Free trade, and Carbon taxes as the most efficient mechanism to deal with climate change Economic thinking, and empirical evidence both show immigration has a Strong positive impact on the economy on the long run...Yet mass migration engenders so much vitriol-including from people that would massively benefit from it. It defies reasoning. People suffer from a fixed pie/Lump of labor fallacy- that there exists a fixed number of jobs. Is this because of general lack of reasoning ability, or intelligence, and inability to grasp basic economic concepts? Or is it racism and xenophobia?

$\begingroup$ Hi! Can you please support your claims of overwhelming consensus with some academic references? Surely you are aware that stating something as common knowledge does not make it true; most racist claims are good examples of this (not that this is one). So please edit your question with links to academic references that support your claims. $\endgroup$
